Apesar de só entrar em funções, oficialmente, no dia 15 de Junho, Guterres apresentou-se hoje aos seus novos subordinados na sede do Alto Comissariado para os Refugiados das Nações Unidas, em Genebra. Alguns excertos do seu discurso:
